A comprehensive report titled Lake Shoreland Protection and Restoration Management Options was prepared by the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources on January 11, 2013 and provided to the Vermont Legislature with options and recommendations for strengthening Vermont shoreland management. A very interesting read of the environmental and economic effects of the development of shoreland. Click here: Lake Shoreland Protection & Restoration Options

March 5th, 2013 Town Meeting Day. I attended the Glover Town Meeting to hear the presentation and questions about the sewer project. There were good questions raised by both Mr Morrill and Mr Braithwaite regarding the rationale for the project and how the town handled the financing of the previous W. Glover Village project. Mr Sumberg explained that a portion of that project was shared by all Glover residents and at the time there were more generous grants available. There is still a lot more work to be done by the town and town residents will need to vote on a bond. If approved construction would begin in 2014. It was brought up that most of the users who will foot the bill are not voting residents of the town and will not have a vote. – Joe Little
